South Korea recorded its hottest summer ever in 2025, with average temperatures hitting 25.7°C — the highest since records began in 1973, officials confirmed Monday.

South Korea endured its hottest summer on record in 2025, official data showed Monday, beating the previous mark set just last year.

"The average temperature from June 1 through Aug. 31 was 25.7 degree Celsius, the highest since data collection began in 1973," the Korea Meteorological Administration said in a press release.
