U.S. President Joe Biden was briefed on Chinese cyber attacks on Department of Treasury networks and is working to mitigate risks, White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre said on Friday.
Chinese state-sponsored hackers breached the Treasury Department's computer security guardrails this month and stole documents in what Treasury called a "major incident," according to a letter to lawmakers that Treasury officials provided to Reuters earlier this week.
