Istanbul explosion considered terrorist act, female attacker detonated bomb: Vice President

Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said there were 6 dead, 4 of which died at the scene, and 81 injured, 2 of which are in serious condition, after the Taksim explosion. Oktay added that the responsible people for the attack will be captured "no matter what."

Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said that Sunday's explosion in Taksim, Istanbul was considered a terrorist act after a female attacker detonated the bomb.

He said there were 6 dead, 4 of which died at the scene, and 81 injured, 2 of which are in serious condition.

Oktay said that the responsible people for the attack will be captured "no matter what."

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca gave further information about the injured, saying that 39 people among 81 injured people were released from the hospital and the other 42 are under treatment right now.

"5 of the 42 patients are in intensive care, while 2 of them are in critical condition."
