A Honduran judge on Tuesday ordered the arrest of ex-president Juan Orlando Hernandez, whose extradition is sought by the United States for alleged ties with drug traffickers, a court spokesman said.
An arrest warrant for Hernandez "has been issued," spokesman Melvin Duarte told reporters, as the ex-leader's home in Tegucigalpa was surrounded by hundreds of police pending a decision on the US bid.
