Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan on December 9 and 10, the presidential sources said in a statement on Thursday, following a Russia-brokered truce that ended fighting over the Armenian-occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region.

The planned visit is the first by a foreign head of state to Baku since the ceasefire, which ended six weeks of heavy fighting and saw the Armenian side agree to withdraw from large parts of the Azerbaijani lands.
