German Chancellor Angela Merkel called on Friday for the world to work together to help protect "our Mother Earth" from climate change following President Donald Trump's move to pull the United States out of the Paris climate accord.
"To all who believe that the future of our planet is important, I say: Let us continue along the way together so that we can be successful [in protecting] our Mother Earth," Merkel said.
Trump's announcement came as part of the build-up to the July G20 summit, which Merkel is to chair in the northern German city of Hamburg.
