Washington calls death of three hostages by IDF 'tragic'
The US government has described the death of three hostages at the hands of Israeli soldiers as "heartbreaking" and "tragic" but said it assumed the Israeli government would investigate how it happened. "Obviously, this is not an outcome that anybody wanted to see, said National Security Council communications director John Kirby on Friday.
