DeMar DeRozan pours in 38 to power Chicago Bulls past Sacramento Kings

DeMar DeRozan scored 38 points and Coby White added a season-high 31 to help the host Chicago Bulls stretch their winning streak to five games with a 125-118 victory against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night.

De'Aaron Fox had 33 points to lead Sacramento, which has lost two straight and three of five entering the All-Star break.

Chicago outscored Sacramento 35-30 in the fourth quarter to prevail. DeRozan provided a consistently steady hand while scoring at least 35 points on 50 percent shooting or better for the seventh straight game, an NBA record. He finished 16-for-27 from the field while extending to eight his career-high streak of 30-point games.

DeRozan rolled in 3-pointer, his first in four games, to reach 35 points and snap a tie with Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain.

Nikola Vucevic had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulls. Javonte Green (15 points) and Ayo Dosunmu (12) followed in double figures.

Domantas Sabonis contributed 22 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists for the Kings. A longtime Indiana Pacer acquired by Sacramento last week, Sabonis logged his ninth straight double-double against the Bulls.

Justin Holiday swished 6-of-11 3-pointers to finish with 18 points for the Kings. Harrison Barnes (17 points) and Chimezie Metu (11) were next.

Fox reached the 25-point mark for the sixth straight game, matching a career-best streak he also compiled last season. He added nine assists and six rebounds.

DeRozan added six assists and six rebounds. White and Dosunmu had six assists apiece.

Chicago trailed by as many as eight points in the first half but regrouped to take a 65-59 advantage into intermission. Fox led all scorers with 19 points at the break, while DeRozan and White had 14 apiece.

Zach LaVine missed his third straight game for the Bulls with left knee soreness, but coach Billy Donovan said the All-Star would be eligible to participate in the upcoming All-Star weekend.

Jeremy Lamb (left ankle soreness) and Davion Mitchell (right-hand soreness) were out for the Kings.
