An "Emergency Gaza Meeting" was convened by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, bringing together World Muslim Religious Leaders to address the urgent issue of "Palestine and Gaza."

During the online meeting, which aimed to provide insights into addressing the ongoing attacks by the occupying state of Israel against Gaza and the Palestinian people, President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş emphasized that discussions about Jerusalem transcend being just about a city; they are discussions about the dignity of the Islamic Ummah (community) and the future of humanity.

Erbaş pointed out that the Palestinians have been subjected to genocide, and in a world where such brutality is openly supported, all ideologies and policies claiming to bring peace and prosperity to humanity have lost their credibility.

Highlighting that the cruelty committed by the occupying state of Israel in Palestine goes beyond mere cruel policies, Erbaş said, "There is a dirty and perverted belief underlying these inhumane actions. According to this belief, they view themselves as the masters of the world and consider the Earth their private property. They believe they will conquer a geography in the Islamic world, which they claim was promised to them by God in their own language, expressed through the concept of 'arz-ı mav'ûd,' and live in paradise there. In pursuit of this superstition, Zionists are turning Palestine into a bloodbath. Leaders of some powerhouses that wholeheartedly support them also adhere to the same superstition. Consequently, concepts such as rights, law, morality, conscience, and compassion hold no significance for them."

Erbaş pointed the finger at: "Those who have occupied Gaza and Palestine gained this audacity because they perceived Islamic societies as fragmented and feeble. While the cries of the oppressed ascend to the heavens, the only solution is for the Ummah of Muhammad to unite and prevent oppression and occupation. Jerusalem and Gaza call upon us to come together. They invite us to collaborate in every field. Thus, we must fortify the awareness of Jerusalem and expedite the work that unites the Islamic world. Just as we unite our hearts and prayers, we must also unite our strength and resources for Palestine and Jerusalem. We must act promptly with a common stance and resolve."

Underlining that no effort will suffice until Jerusalem genuinely returns to the realm of peace, Erbaş asserted, "I have faith that the day we unite with one another, imbued with a sense of unity, peace and tranquility will naturally come to the lands of the Ummah, especially Gaza. The life-affirming principles and values of Islam will bring order to the world. Our duty is to work diligently toward this ideal."

Concluding his remarks, Erbaş expressed gratitude to all participants and prayed, "I beseech Almighty God to grant us the determination, willpower, foresight, and insight to bring prosperity to the world we live in by the universal truths of our great book, the Holy Quran."

The meeting, attended by 131 individuals from 92 countries, will conclude with a final declaration to be shared with the public today.
