Bassem Youssef expressed his frustration on Twitter, stating, "Facebook has been restricting my posts and access for the past two days. Many people are having trouble following my page. I wonder why?" It is known that the Meta company, which owns Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram, is attempting to whitewash Israel's actions through social media. Similar incidents have occurred in the past.
During an appearance on Piers Morgan's talk show "Uncensored," Egyptian comedian and television host Basser Youssef, who has a Gazan wife, used satire to comment on the genocide initiated by Israel in the occupied territories where Palestinians live.
When pro-Israel host Piers Morgan asked, "What happened on October 7th?" Youssef responded, "It was, of course, terrible. You know, my wife's family lives in Gaza. They have cousins and uncles there, and their homes were bombed. We couldn't communicate with them. But you know, we're used to it... 'Oh, Israel is killing us.' But they never die! What I mean is they always come back! I know it's very hard to kill them because I'm married to one of them."
Youssef likened Israel to a narcissistic entity, saying, "They want us to believe they are the victims. It's like being in a relationship with a narcissistic psychopath."
Referring to the statement made by American columnist Ben Shapiro on the same program on October 11, "The only solution to the Israel-Gaza war is for Israel to annex Gaza and kill as many people as possible so that this never happens again," Youssef pointed out that over 3,500 Palestinians have been killed since October 7, asking, "How many more people do we need to kill for Ben Shapiro to be happy?"
