Contracts worth $6.5 Billion signed for serial production of new missile and defense systems to strengthen Türkiye's 'Iron Dome' layered air defense system.
The agreements were finalized during the "Air Defense and Missile Systems Signing Ceremony," organized under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB).
The event, attended by leading representatives of the defense sector, marks a significant step in the implementation of strategic projects designed to shield Türkiye's airspace.
According to official reports, the contracts focus on the development and deployment of new air defense and missile systems. The $6.5 billion investment underscores Türkiye's commitment to achieving a fully integrated, multi-layered defense network capable of neutralizing a wide range of aerial threats.
During the ceremony, Haluk Görgün discussed the meticulous continuation of processes for converting decisions made at the Defense Industry Executive Committee into contracts.
Görgün, recalling the decisions made at the recent executive committee meeting, particularly concerning the procurement of offensive systems and air defense systems for the heroic Turkish army, stated:
"In this process, our companies Roketsan and ASELSAN have signed contracts related not only to their previously developed and inventory-added air defense systems, both short and long-range, but also concerning the advanced versions of offensive systems previously added to our inventory by Roketsan."
