According to a statement from the ministry, the event, which first began in 2021 under the name "Beyoglu Culture Route Festival" and will be organized in the city for the sixth time this year, will feature concerts, exhibitions, theater and ballet performances, workshops, and gastronomy events.
Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, whose remarks were included in the statement, said they view Istanbul not only as a festival venue but as a cultural route in itself.
"Istanbul is a unique city that brings together the traces of different civilizations, beliefs and cultures in the same place, allowing the past and present to coexist side by side. For this reason, we see Istanbul not only as a festival venue, but as a cultural route in its own right. The fact that the story of the Türkiye Culture Route Festival began in Beyoglu in 2021 gives Istanbul a special meaning for us. Today, we are very pleased to be back in Istanbul as the festival's 20th stop and to once again showcase in this city how far the festival has come. For nine days, we will transform Istanbul's squares, museums, historic buildings, stages and various districts into meeting points for culture and art. With a program ranging from world-renowned orchestras to local artists, from exhibitions to performing arts, from gastronomy routes to children's events, we aim to connect Istanbul's cultural heritage with different generations," he said.
