Ottoman legacy on the Drina River in Bosnia and Herzegovina
The "Sokollu Mehmed Pasha Bridge," also known as the "Drina Bridge," stands as a remnant of the Ottoman Empire in the city of Visegrad, located in the eastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, continuing to impress with its majesty.
This historic bridge, which has managed to remain standing through the centuries, also inspired Bosnian writer Ivo Andric's novel "The Bridge on the Drina," which earned him the Nobel Prize.
