Venezuela's government announced Tuesday that the death toll from the June 24 double earthquake has risen to 3,685, with 16,740 injured, up from Sunday's count of 3,535.

The death toll from the double earthquake that struck Venezuela on June 24 has risen to 3,685, the government said Tuesday.
"Official toll as of July 7: 3,685 dead, 16,740 injured," a government statement said, up from 3,535 dead reported on Sunday. The statement gave no mention of numbers of missing.
