Turkish authorities detained 83 people over suspected links to Daesh [ISIS] extremists in operations across 28 provinces, the Interior Ministry said on Friday.
Those detained were suspected of being members of Daesh, financing it through affiliated individuals and purported charitable organizations, the ministry said on the social media platform X.
The suspects are also accused of spreading the group's propaganda on social media.
The operations were carried out by provincial gendarmerie counter-terrorism departments on the orders of the chief public prosecutors' offices.
The Daesh [ISIS] has been blamed for a series of deadly attacks in Turkey in recent years. The Turkish authorities have reported that they have stepped up their crackdown on the group's networks and financing across the country in the past few months.
