France's cuts to planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions slowed for a second straight year in 2025, government-commissioned data showed on Wednesday, well below what is needed to meet its climate targets.

The 1.5-percent reduction "remains insufficient" to meet the country's 2030 climate goals, said Citepa, a non-profit organisation tasked by France's ecology ministry with tallying the country's greenhouse gas inventory.
