Strong 6.4-magnitude earthquake hits Afghanistan

A 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan late Sunday, the German Research Center for Geosciences said.
The quake hit at 2029GMT at a depth of about 10 kilometers (6 miles) southwest of Khulm town in northern Afghanistan's Samangan province.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
According to the US Geological Survey, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 6.3.
