Ankara discussing buying 40 Eurofighter Typhoon jets after uncertainty over U.S. F-16 buy
According to a source from the Turkish defense ministry, after realizing that their request for F-16 jets from the United States may not be successful, Türkiye began considering purchasing 40 Eurofighter Typhoon jets from European countries during discussions on Thursday.

Türkiye began discussing buying 40 Eurofighter Typhoon jets with European states after it saw that its request for F-16 jets from the United States may not work out, a Turkish defense ministry source said on Thursday.
Defence Minister Yaşar Güler is set to hold talks on the issue with his British counterpart Grant Shapps in Ankara on Thursday, the source said. Türkiye wants to buy the newly built and most advanced version of the Eurofighters, he added.
