The Russian Defense Ministry on Wednesday published a video showing the deployment of a Yars thermonuclear armed intercontinental ballistic missile in the Kaluga region.
According to a ministry statement, the missile has been deployed in the city of Kozelsk, located some 264 kilometers (139 miles) southwest of Moscow.
The ministry said that the Kozelsk missile unit is the first in Russia that underwent reequipment with the Yars stationary-based missile system.
"The implementation of the measures planned for 2023 to reequip the Strategic Missile Forces with the Yars missile system will increase the combat capabilities of our country's strategic nuclear forces," the ministry said.
