Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala has spoken out in favour of moving his country's embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
"I am convinced that this would be a desirable step at the present time," the liberal-conservative politician wrote on the short message service X, formerly Twitter, on Monday.
He said he would negotiate the concrete procedure with his coalition partners.
The relocation of embassies to Jerusalem is controversial. According to most of the international community, the status of Jerusalem should be determined in future peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians.
Israel claims all of Jerusalem as its capital, while the Palestinians want East Jerusalem as the capital for a separate state of Palestine.
The US moved its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in May 2018 under then US president Donald Trump.
