City council in Ukraine's Mariupol city said on Sunday that Russian forces bombed an art school where 400 residents had taken refuge.

The building was being used as a shelter for women, children and the elderly until it was struck on Saturday. City officials blamed Russian fire, but that could not be confirmed.

"People are still under the rubble," it said. There were no counts yet of dead or injured.
