UN rights investigators on Friday said Chilean police had responded to mass protests in the country in a "fundamentally repressive manner", resulting in numerous serious abuses.
Presenting a report published after a three-week UN mission to Chile, mission chief Imma Guerras-Delgado told reporters that "the management of assemblies by the police has been carried out in a fundamentally repressive manner," leading to abuses including unlawful killings and torture.
