Tunisian PM Chahed dismisses foreign, defence ministers

The Tunisian government has sacked Defense Minister Abdelkarim Zbidi and Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui, according to a cabinet statement on Tuesday. The decisions were taken "after consultation with newly-elected President Kais Saied", the statement added.

Tunisia's Prime Minister Youssef Chahed has dismissed the foreign and defence ministers after consultation with the newly elected President Kais Saied, a statement on the presidency's website said on Tuesday.

Chahed has appointed Karim Jamoussi, the justice minister, as acting defence minister, and Sabri Bachtobji as acting foreign minister, the statement said.
