Ecuador says was 'sovereign right' to terminate Assange asylum
Ecuador terminated WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's asylum because he repeatedly violated international conventions, says President Lenin Moreno. "The discourteous and aggressive behaviour of Mr Julian Assange" as well as "hostile and threatening declarations" by an unnamed organization against Ecuador made the asylum of Assange "unsustainable and no longer valid," Moreno said in a video message distributed via Twitter.

Ecuador acted within its sovereign rights when it decided to withdraw diplomatic asylum from WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, President Lenin Moreno said Thursday.
Assange was arrested at the Ecuador embassy in London after Quito withdrew his asylum, and police entered the embassy.
Moreno said: "Ecuador has decided with sovereign rights to withdraw the diplomatic asylum to Julian Assange for repeatedly violating international conventions and the protocol of co-habitation".
