Iraq's Parliament speaker Mohamed al-Halbusi on Wednesday said that his country "has irreversibly overcome political sectarianism".
Following a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri in Baghdad, al-Halbusi said Iraq is seeking to play a role in unifying the Arab position in the international arena toward joint causes particularly the Palestinian issue.
"We are keen to unify the Arab position, especially on the joint issues of the [Arab] nation on international forums, especially regarding the Palestinian cause," said al-Halbusi.
