Turkey's ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party candidate for Istanbul mayor Binali Yıldırım declared victory in the local polls on Sunday.
"We won elections in Istanbul," Yıldırım said.
"We thank the people of Istanbul for handing in the duty to us," he added.
