Syrians at home and abroad to decide Assad's fate: Erdoğan
The people of Syria should decide the future of Bashar al-Assad, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said. "Syrian people, at home and abroad, will decide the fate of Assad. It is not up to people here (in this room). Assad is a person who killed 1 million of his people. He is not in a credible position for us," Erdoğan told a joint press conference with leaders from Germany, France and Russia in Istanbul.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Saturday said that Syrians "inside and outside" the country will decide the fate of Bashar al-Assad.
"The will to determine Assad's situation belongs to the Syrian people: all Syrian people inside and outside will decide," Erdoğan, a vocal opponent of Assad, told a news conference in Istanbul following a summit with the leaders of Russia, France and Germany.
"Assad is a person who killed 1 million of his people. He is not in a credible position for us," the Turkish president added.
ERDOĞAN SHARES DETAILS OF KHASHOGGI CASE WITH LEADERS AT FOUR-WAY SUMMIT
Erdoğan shared details of the case of slain Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in bilateral talks during a four-way summit with the leaders of Russia, France and Germany, he said on Saturday.
Erdoğan, speaking at a joint news conference following a summit in Istanbul, said Saudi Arabia needed to say who sent to Turkey the 18 people believed to be responsible for Khashoggi's killing.
He also said Turkey valued the conclusion of discussions between Turkish and Saudi prosecutors, who are due to meet on Sunday.
