AK Party lawmaker appointed in NATO PA group

The head of the Turkish delegation to NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) took over a new assignment at the assembly.
Ahmet Berat Conkar, a deputy of ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, was elected as the rapporteur of Mediterranean and Middle East special group of the NATO PA.
In a written statement on Tuesday, Conkar said he would actively work on the reports that will be written on the region.
"I will do my best to carry out my duty within the scope of Turkey's NATO membership," said Conkar.
Turkey has been a member of NATO for 66 years, while Turkish army is the second strongest army of the NATO after the U.S. armed forces.
