Turkish state body gives iftar dinner in Mozambique

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) organized iftar (fast-breaking) dinners in Mozambique, a southeastern African nation.

In addition to several iftar events for orphans, students and the needy in the capital Maputo, TIKA also distributed food packages to 750 families throughout the month.

İbrahim Aybek, TIKA's Maputo coordinator, told Anadolu Agency that they organized iftar dinner for 250 orphans and students of Dar es Salaam orphanage center in Matola city and the Muslims of Mozambique have prayed for Turkish people.

In coordination with Comunidade Mahometana, one of the oldest Islamic associations in the country founded in 1935, TIKA organized iftar dinner for 300 university students and religious scholars. Around 250 needy people were also able to have iftar dinner at Hamza mosque.

TIKA is supporting Mozambique in development projects, education and health sector since last year.
