An Istanbul-based humanitarian organization said on Tuesday that it distributed iftar (fast-breaking) meals to 300 families in Gaza, Palestine.

In a statement, Federation of Humanitarian Associations (IDDEF) said the group aims to distribute food aid to the needy Muslims in Africa, Asia and Balkans during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Teams of the IDDEF have distributed food to 300 families in Gaza at the first phase of the humanitarian aid distribution.

The statement added that donors who would like to donate can have more information on the charity's website, www.iddef.org.

Due to the Israeli blockade, the Gaza Strip's roughly two million inhabitants have come to rely on a sophisticated network of cross-border tunnels to import basic commodities, including food, fuel, and medicine.
