A motorcycle bomb exploded at police headquarters in the Indonesian city of Surabaya on Monday, killing four attackers and injuring 10 people including four officers, police said.

"Four attackers on two motorycles died," East Java police spokesman Frans Barung Mangera said.

East Java police chief Machfud Arifin said the attackers were members of one family.

Security footage circulating online showed two policemen stopping a motorcycle carrying at least two people at the gate to the station before the bomb was detonated.

The attack came a day after a family of six suicide bombers, including girls aged 12 and 9, attacked three churches in the city, killing themselves and eight other people.

Police also killed a suspected terrorist late Sunday after an explosion in his apartment in the town of Sidoarjo killed his wife and one of his children, Mangera said.

Police shot the suspect dead after they rushed to the apartment and found him holding a bomb detonator.
