Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) does not face any security threat amid the U.S.-led airstrikes in Syria, officials said on Saturday.

In a statement, Turkish Cypriot Foreign Ministry said: "We are closely monitoring developments in the region in cooperation with Turkish Naval Forces."

"TRNC's maritime territory and coasts do not face any safety hazard," the statement added.

Turkish Cypriot's statement came after the U.S., U.K., and France jointly launched airstrikes on the Assad regime's alleged chemical weapons facilities in Syria earlier on Saturday.

On April 7, the White Helmets, a civil defense agency, accused the Assad regime of an alleged chemical attack, which it said killed 78 civilians and injured hundreds of others.
