Seven people were killed and 11 others injured on Tuesday when a truck collided with a minibus in northern Egypt, the Health Ministry has said.
According to a ministry statement, the accident occurred on a road linking capital Cairo to Egypt's northeastern provinces.
The ministry said that a number of those injured were in critical condition.
Egypt has seen numerous road and rail accidents in recent years, due largely to what critics describe as mismanagement and antiquated infrastructure.
In 2016, 14,710 car accidents claimed 5,343 lives in Egypt and left 18,646 people injured, according to Egypt's state-run statistical agency.
