Death toll in Russian shopping mall fire reaches 64
The death toll from a fire at a shopping mall in the Russian city of Kemerovo has reached 64 people, Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov said on Monday.

At least 64 people have died in a fire that swept through a shopping mall in the Siberian city of Kemerovo, Russian authorities said Monday.
Firefighters have been battling the blaze for 14 hours, the Emergency Situations Ministry said in a statement.
Authorities have detained four people for questioning, including the lessee of the premises where the blaze is believed to have originated, as well as the person in charge of the company that manages the mall.
President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the victims of the disaster and pledged state assistance.
