Global air traffic is not on course to meet self-imposed environment goals, according to a study released on Saturday by the Atmosfair organization dedicated to green travel.
The Germany-based group plans to present its findings at the UN Climate Change Conference currently taking place in Bonn.
Among other its findings were that the three most climate-friendly airlines in the world are based in Europe and China.
Two German airlines - Tuifly and Condor - were in the top 10 list, and in the overall rankings had the least carbon dioxide emissions per passenger per kilometre, according to Atmosfair's findings.
