Dolphin force extended in SE Pakistan

Pakistan's southeastern province of Punjab has extended its Dolphin force to five more districts in order to safeguard the ongoing China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in the province, officials said.
The Dolphin force was formed in April 2016, by the Punjab government in Lahore, to eliminate street crime from the province of Punjab.
The Dolphin force idea originated from Turkey, where they are performing very well, Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab chief minister, told the participants in a passing out ceremony -- which marks the end of the first stage of training -- for the Dolphin force in Lahore on Saturday.
"I took the idea from Turkey where most young personnel are serving in the Dolphin force and they performed very well," said Sharif.

He said the Turkish authorities extended full support in forming the force in Punjab.
"I am really grateful to Turkish government and their leadership for the extended help and support in many sectors," said Sharif.
The latest addition of 696 personnel in Punjab police, with new black uniforms, top-of-the-line motorbikes and bluetooth microphone-equipped helmets are to be deployed in five big cities -- Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur and Multan.
Sharif said the young security personnel would provide security to the $56 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in the province.
