UNICEF: Very high risk of famine in war-torn Gaza Strip
Insufficient food supplies, alarming malnutrition rates and spreading diseases are unfolding in the Gaza Strip, threatening the lives of numerous children in the area. The United Nation's children's agency, the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), said last December that there is a very high risk of famine in the Gaza Strip.
