He was 77 years old and known to have battled health problems in recent years.As a well-known figure in TV news and politics, he resigned from Fox last July amid allegations of sexual harassment by former anchor Gretchen Carlson.Carlson said she was fired after refusing Ailes' sexual advances.He was soon hit by another lawsuit filed by a Democratic political consultant and Fox News contributor.On Ailes political resume, adviser to presidential candidates Richard Nixon and George H.W. Bush.Leading Fox News, Ailes was known for his feisty determination and conservative politics. He leaves behind a wife and son.
