Coronavirus in Europe: Italy announces lockdown in north

The region of Lombardy and a number of provinces in northern Italy are to go into lockdown in an effort to combat the coronavirus outbreak, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced in the early hours of Sunday.
