Following German Chancellor Angela Merkel's statements on Afrin, Turkey's ministry of foreign affairs said in a statement on Wednesday that Merkel's remarks are unacceptable for Turkey. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also informed his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier about Operation Olive-Branch.
