Heavy rainfall and a storm hits Istanbul. Millions of residents of Istanbul have struggled to get to work on Tuesday morning as booming thunderstorms drenched the city. The heaviest rainfall since 2009 disrupted daily life in Istanbul. Traffic was brought to a halt during rush hour across the city, while torrents of rain swamped transport networks. Some metro and bus stops, many underpasses and intersections were put out of action, leaving many pedestrians stranded.
