Despite a rocky start, recently concluded Syria peace talks in Kazakhstan's Astana have ended on an unprecedented positive note. A last minute intervention by Turkey ensured talks, which were threatened by an opposition walk-out, continued, and were able to reach a previously unattainable point of compromise.
