Türkiye's defense and aerospace exports surged 12.1% year-on-year this January-March to $1.91 billion, according to new figures announced Thursday.
Haluk Görgün, the head of Türkiye's Defense Industry Secretariat, said on Turkish social media platform NSosyal that the country's defense and aerospace exports in May alone reached $803 million.
Görgün said that Türkiye's defense and aerospace industry has been growing in line with the government's strategic vision implemented under the leadership of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The sector's increased capacity and growing global collaborations were reflected in its export performance, he said.
"Our robust production infrastructure and expanding collaborations, as well as our widening market network, will carry this momentum even further in the coming days," he added.
