Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,102.16 points on Thursday, rising 0.23% or 2.48 points from the previous close.
At Wednesday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.93% at 1,099.68 points, with a daily trading volume of 17.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.4 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 7.4780 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), down from 7.4930 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped slightly to 8.8470 from 8.8520, while one British pound traded for 9.7790 Turkish liras, down from 9.7890.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $40.80 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
