The Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) and police captured a PKK terrorist who was responsible for the terror group's organizational activities in Europe, security sources said on Saturday.

The terrorist, M.S., was captured by Turkish security forces on July 27 in Turkey's northwestern province of Bursa and had also been running the terrorist organization's activities in Norway, said the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to media.

He was then jailed on July 31 for a member of the PKK terrorist organization.

After having entered Turkey some time earlier, M.S. came under investigation by the National Intelligence Organization and police force for suspected terror links.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the European Union -- has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
