International tourists flock to Turkey's Antalya

More than 9 million tourists visited Turkey's southern province of Antalya in the first eight months of 2018, a 28.28-percent year-on-year increase.

Tourists from 180 countries across the world converged to the Mediterranean coastal province from January to August.

According to official data compiled by Anadolu Agency, the number of tourists arriving in the city has increased from over 7 million in the same period last year.

The resort province famous for its beaches remained most popular with Russian tourists, who accounted for 38.45 percent of the total visitors, followed by Germans at 16.46 percent and Ukrainians at 6.14 percent.

The number of Polish tourists has more than doubled since last year.

British tourists have increased by over 68 percent this year, followed by Romanian tourists rising 65.85 percent and Dutch tourists at 47.07 percent.
