Police killed in clashes with PKK terrorists in southeast Turkey
A police officer was killed, another police was injured during clashes between security forces and PKK terrorists in Turkey's southeastern Hakkari province, the governorate said Sunday.

A police officer was martyred during a clash between security forces and PKK terrorists in southeastern Hakkari province on Sunday, the governor's office confirmed in a statement.
The clash in the Şemdinli district also injured another officer, statement said, adding that the injured police was rushed to Hakkari State Hospital.
According to the governor's office, a helicopter-backed operation against the PKK continues in the region.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of some 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians.
