Turkish chief public prosecutor killed in 'hit-and-run' car accident

A Turkish chief public prosecutor and his driver were killed in car accident in southwestern Turkey Wednesday.

Chief public prosecutor of Denizli province, Mustafa Alper, was killed along with his driver after a truck crashed into Alper's official car and fled from the accident scene while a police officer protecting the prosecutor was left in critical condition.

The Denizli governorate has launched an investigation into the accident.
