Alanyaspor stunned Besiktas 1-0 on Sunday after Nuno Lima's second-half header secured the hosts their first victory of the Turkish Super Lig season.
Lima scored the decisive goal in the 73rd minute at GAIN Park Stadium, while goalkeeper Paulo Victor produced several saves to deny Besiktas an equalizer.
Besiktas thought they had taken the lead in the 19th minute when Oh Hyeon-gyu headed Leandro Trossard's cross into the net.
Referee Adnan Deniz Kayatepe, however, disallowed the goal after ruling that the South Korean forward had pulled an opponent's shirt before scoring.
Ridvan Yilmaz then fired wide from a difficult angle in the 23rd minute after being set up by Trossard during a counterattack.
Besiktas created another opportunity in the 34th minute when Vaclav Cerny's through ball sent Oh clear, but Paulo Victor raced off his line and intervened before the forward could shoot.
Emmanuel Agbadou headed narrowly over from Yilmaz's corner three minutes later.
Cerny tested Victor in the 39th minute, but the Alanyaspor goalkeeper pushed his effort behind for a corner as the teams went into halftime goalless.
Besiktas continued to apply pressure after the break, with Victor saving Orkun Kokcu's long-range shot in the 47th minute.
Alanyaspor created their clearest opportunity up to that point four minutes later, when Taylan Bulut blocked Juan Pablo Patino Duarte's effort in front of goal.
Dusan Vlahovic came off the bench in the 57th minute and forced another save from Victor six minutes later.
Alanyaspor broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute following a corner. Florent Hadergjonaj delivered a cross into the area, and Lima directed his header into the top-left corner.
Vlahovic came close to equalizing in the 80th minute, but Victor saved his left-footed effort from inside the area.
Kassoum Ouattara then had a header blocked before Ilhan Fakili's long-range effort in the 90th minute was held by the Alanyaspor goalkeeper.
Alanyaspor held on to claim all three points and increase their total to four, while Besiktas remained on three after suffering their first league defeat of the season.
