Galatasaray made a great effort to overcome Bayern Munich, but the German powerhouse took a 3-1 win thanks to second half goals in a Tuesday UEFA Champions League match in Istanbul.

Bayern Munich's French forward Kingsley Coman scored an early opener at the RAMS Park.

Galatasaray responded to Coman's opening goal in the 30th minute as the Istanbul club's Argentine star Mauro Icardi scored a spectacular Panenka penalty to encourage the Lions.

The Turkish club challenged Bayern Munich, and spoiled their plans for a long time, but also wasted several chances throughout the game.

Bayern Munich bagged a 3-1 victory in the away match thanks to goals scored by English forward Harry Kane and German midfielder Jamal Musiala in the 73rd and 79th minutes.

Group A leaders Bayern Munich have won three games in the 2023-24 Champions League campaign.

Second-place Galatasaray were handed their first loss in this season, and have four points. Their next match with Munich is on Nov. 8.

Copenhagen have one point, while Manchester United are at the bottom of the group with no points.
